Surprise Proposal: Jessica and Andrew- Portland, OR.

When Jessica woke up that morning, she had no idea about all the wheels turning creating this surprise for her. She thought Andrew was on a business trip somewhere else in the world. She thought her mom just wanted to enjoy a morning of shopping and a nice lunch with her. She thought her best friends were all honest, and not big liars….

Instead, Andrew had been planning and scheming for this day for quite some time. He had arranged for her mom to invite her on a “girls day outing.” He had arranged for a flight into Portland that morning and a friend to pick him up and take him to pick up the ring. He had arranged for Garrett and I to be hiding at the restaurant to capture the moment. Friends had assisted Andrew (who does not even live on the same continent!) with restaurant suggestions, scouting trips, and helped sneakily clear her schedule. There was even a floorpan, multiple run-throughs, a back up plan, and a back up to the back up plan!

When Jessica and her mom arrived for lunch, they were promptly escorted to their reserved table (picked out and held ahead of time to insure great visibility). Her mom and the hostess even had instructions as to which chair was for Jessica to sit in! Her mom excused herself to the restroom, leaving Jessica at the table alone. Everything had gone perfectly according to plan. Everyone was in position. It was go time!

Later that evening it was time for her second surprise! Andrew had made dinner reservations for the two of them (and she was told JUST the two of them) her parents, and some of their close friends for an engagement dinner party to celebrate! Everyone was seated at the table with bubbly poured when they walked in. So much fun!

The whole day was such a beautiful grand gesture of Andrew’s love for Jessica, how much he cares for her heart, and how much she lights up when they are together. What an honor it was to witness and document it all unfold!
