Mother’s Day on Whidbey Island | Tacoma, WA Family Photographer | Heather Hurt Photography
It really was an adventure for Mother’s Day on Whidbey Island, but from these you may think it was all about Clover. Oops! Mom loves being near water so for Mother’s Day this year we took her on a day trip hitting some of the most beautiful places in the region. We of course took Clover along, as it is one of her favorite places!
Our day started up north at Deception Pass, then we headed South to drive the length of Whidbey. We had picnics, marveled at the water views, sampled treats and liqueurs (at Whidbey Island Distillery) had some pints (at a local favorite, Double Bluff Brewing) and took Clover to several dog parks.
We all already know my dad and clover are best buds, but mom and her have a special bond too. When I decided to leave Clover’s water in the car at the beach park (“we won’t be out here long” I thought) it was mom who gave up her water when Clover got thirsty after running around. Later at Clover’s favorite run-around-in-the-forest dog park there was a young dog who snarled, growled, and barked at my mom. Clover, who had run up ahead of us exploring the trail, promptly ran back to my mom’s side when she heard the commotion. They were taking care of each other all day and it was so sweet!
