Dennis and Susan, Depoe Bay, OR Whale Watching Anniversary Session
Whether it is a milestone year or just good timing, an anniversary session is always a great idea. Especially when it turns into a whale watching anniversary session in Depot Bay, OR! I have been wanting to do a session for my parents for a while and when I was able to join them at their favorite vacation spot for a long weekend we made it happen! They spoiled us the whole weekend with pancake breakfasts, yummy dinners, good wine… it was the least I could do…
These two have had a lot of adventures throughout the world together (I for sure got my wanderlust from them both in different ways) but there is something about this place- with the waves crashing, birds soaring, sea breeze blowing, and majestic creatures swimming by that keeps them coming back. It is peaceful, refreshing, and awe inspiring. They have been coming here for the last 14 years or so, probably the most consistent vacation spot together in their 41 years of marriage.
After a lovely dinner out, we headed up to the cliff-side park for a sunset photo session. It was windy, it was cold, and the whales (and seals!) were putting on a great show. They were so close to the shore and so plentiful that it actually made it really hard to do a proper shoot! We were so distracted by these beautiful animals. What a wonderful way to spend the evening!
