I first met Katy when she was seventeen: a vivacious, plant-loving young woman trying to decipher her post high school plan. Between then and now, she became my Sister-in-law (I married her oldest brother), moved to Africa for a year, moved to Chicago for college, married Vince, birthed baby Nova, finished school, and moved to Cincinnati. Those last four were all within a year! I’m tired just thinking about it. Also in that time, we have had many conversations about life plans, life plans not working out, life plans changing, and how hard all that figuring out and deciding can be. Who’s with us and can relate?!

I think that is why this was so, so special. We spent an evening at their darling Cincinnati house enjoying right where they are for this time in life and all that has made this place a home: lots of plants, chunky baby arms, kitties, the butterfly walk, a gorgeous sunset, and even some chickens!
