Clover’s Annual Fall Portraits | Tacoma, WA Family Photographer | Heather Hurt Photography

Oh. My. Heart. Friday was THE day: Clover’s annual fall portraits! It is one of my favorite days of the year. Incidentally, it is one of her least favorite days. She is really hard to get pictures of. She literally turns her head and/or walks away when I point the camera at her (like mother, like dog-daughter). Last year I forgot the treats and she was not thrilled. This time, not only did I bring the treats, but I brought Garrett. Clover was MUCH happier! Treats and Garrett always make me happier, too, so I get it. Smart girl. Hold out for the good stuff.

Little miss had a rough few months (she had quite the “owie”) but all is well now and we took her to one of our favorite beach parks to celebrate. She got to run, sniff, watch for squirrels and bark at the trains passing in the distance. Doggie heaven.

It was a bright and beautiful fall day, but when we got down to the beach there was a layer of thick fog. I love the bright leaves and green against the dramatic, foggy beach. It reminded me a bit of Zelda and Nikki’s beach session in San Francisco last year! I continue to be amazed by the beauty of this city and by how time here is flying by. Our sweet and spunky girl helps me remember to slow down, smell the breeze, and savor the good treats. Haha, who am I kidding she scarfs those things down. But you get the point.
