Clover’s Snow Day | Tacoma, WA Family Photographer | Heather Hurt Photography
A nice layer of fluffy snow and some canceled appointments made for a cozy Snow Day today in Tacoma! Clover LOVES the snow. We adopted her when we were living in Cincinnati and that winter we had a lot of fun snow walks. I think she misses those. She comes alive in a bit of a different way. There is an extra pep in her step and she gets that happy grin when we go out for walks. She wants to constantly go back out in the yard and be in it. Snow makes her so, so happy. But she is kind of a serious dog. She doesn’t romp and play and roll around. And she does NOT appreciate my desire to document the snow day:
“Let me sniff and hunt, or let’s go back inside. This picture taking business is garbage.”
So I let her sniff and hunt. I love watching her watch. I love her intensity, her inquisitive gaze, and her run. My favorite thing is when she closes her eyes and tilts her head up just a tad to smell something important on the breeze and it looks like she is puckering up for a big smooch. And I love her big begging eyes when she realizes I brought treats. I even love her grump face when she caught on and decided she wasn’t going to take my bribes anymore. Such a smart, stubborn girl. I think I love that the most.
